JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Soldiers and civilians assigned to the 841st Transportation Battalion helped transport and receive cargo to support the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team, Army National Guard in North Carolina, Oct. 29 and 30, 2020.
They started the first day at 8:00 a.m. and loaded approximately 100 vehicles onto a vessel. This is one of three shipments going to Southwest Asia in support of the 30th ABCT.
“This cargo is designated to go over and support our Army service members in and around the theater,” said U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Will Twigg, the 841st TB Operations NCO.
On the second day, the 841st TB offloaded approximately 1,800 pieces of cargo returning from Southwest Asia.
“This is one of three vessels and the total pieces moved for the 30th ABCT will be over 3,000 pieces of cargo,” said Twigg, who added that the cargo would be going to 26 different locations here on the eastern seaboard.
Twigg said he was passionate about the amount of hard work the battalion is doing in order to provide the necessary cargo for service members overseas.
“This mission cargo supports the combat service support warfighters that carries out the logistics missions,” said Twigg “These wheeled vehicles will go to theater and be utilized for transportation and support logistics missions.”
The cargo being offloaded will be transported to multiple states including West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
The 841st TB ensures deployment readiness and conducts transportation operations to service members around the world.
