Joint Base Charleston Halloween Activities

FSS Annual Boo Bash on Weapons Station (Oct. 30, 2020)

Joint Base Charleston will hold their Annual Boo Bash at Locklear Park on the Naval Weapons Station Oct. 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  There will be various activities, to include; Trunk or Treat, games, movie on the lawn featuring “Hocus Pocus,” a haunted bus, and fireworks.  This is a free event.  Participants are limited to DoD ID card holders only and IDs will be checked before entering the area.

Mitigation measures to reduce the risk of COVID 19 will include the following:

- Families/groups may participate in activities together and will be socially distanced from other families/groups 

- All volunteers and guests are required to wear face coverings 

- All candy will be prepackaged and distributed accordingly

- Hand sanitizer and social distancing will be implemented at each activity

Trick-or-Treat (Oct. 31, 2020)

Trick-or-Treating is authorized to take place in Air Base housing and Navy Eastside housing Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. In an effort to reduce crowd size, trick-or-treating will be for those military families residing on the Air Base or Naval Weapons Station only and not for the general public. A DoD ID card will still be needed to access the installation at this time.

Mitigation measures to reduce the risk of COVID 19 will include the following:

- Residents will distribute candy at the end of their driveway or edge of yard to prevent crowding near the front door

- Candy should be prepackaged/wrapped. Do not allow trick-or-treaters to reach in a common container; residents should hand out candy

- Provide hand sanitizer, if possible, where candy is being distributed

- Residents and trick-or-treaters are reminded to practice social distancing and wear mask

- Costume masks are not to be substituted for cloth masks
