CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Staff Sgt. Robert Alvardo is a communication, navigation and mission systems instructor with the 373rd Training Squadron Detachment 5 and he has been stationed at Charleston AFB for nearly two years.
As an instructor, his job is to provide training for all bases flying C-17 aircraft.
"I think that being able to teach others how to do things is the best part of this job," said Sergeant Alvardo. "I feel proud and confident the people I teach will go forward to their units and provide world-class maintenance."
Sergeant Alvardo contributes to Team Charleston's mission by providing quality instruction to students who will be working on C-17s all across the world.
This "Warrior of the Week" hails from San Antonio and enlisted in the Air Force more than five years ago. He joined the Air Force to see the world and to help him reevaluate his short-term and long-term educational goals.
"He's a highly motivated, professional NCO," said Tech. Sgt. Joseph Thomas, 373 TRS Det. 5 flight chief. "He consistently produces quality work and has proven an invaluable asset to our unit in training Air Force and international maintenance technicians."
