Seven members of Charleston AFB received the following non-judicial punishments under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice during February. The maximum punishment under Article 15 depends on the rank of the member being offered the Article 15 and the rank of the officer imposing punishment. If the commander finds a military member committed the charged offense, the commander then determines the member's punishment based on the severity of the offense, the circumstances surrounding the offense, any matters in mitigation or extenuation presented by the member as well as any previous misconduct.
A 437th Maintenance Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for failing to go to his place of duty on three occasions and for making a false official statement. The punishment consisted of a reduction to airman basic, with reduction below airman suspended, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand. Member was later administratively separated from the Air Force with a general discharge.
A 437 MXS senior airman received an Article 15 for failing to go to his appointed place of duty and for misusing the government travel card. The punishment consisted of a reduction to airman, with reduction below airman first class suspended, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand. Member was later administratively separated from the Air Force with a general discharge.
A 437 MXS senior airman received an Article 15 for failing to possess a valid state drivers license and for operating a vehicle while drunk. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman basic, with reduction below airman suspended, forfeiture of $250 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for operating a vehicle while drunk. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman, forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.
A 437th Logistics Readiness Squadron senior airman received an Article 15 for failing to go to his appointed place of duty and for failing to obey a lawful order. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $200 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.
A 437 MXS airman first class received an Article 15 for being absence without leave for more than three days but less than 30 days and for failing to obey a lawful order. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437th Aeromedical Dental Squadron senior airman received an Article 15 for signing a false official statement and for failing to pay just debts. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman first class.
