CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Base members wishing to sponsor a visitor onto Charleston AFB can now fill out much of the required form via the Globemaster intranet site.
Since April 2006, all Airmen on base with a ".mil" account have been able to go to the Globemaster home page under "Items Of Interest" and click on the visitor pass link which will allow them to fill out an Air Force Form 75, or visitor's pass request, for a visitor or guest to enter the base. There is a link with directions on how to fill out the form and a link to the form itself.
Once all information is entered and submitted, pass and registration staff members can retrieve the data and provide the visitor with an AF Form 75. This can only be done during operating hours at the VCC which are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. The more information the sponsor inputs about their visitor, including a description of the vehicle, the quicker the process of issuing the AF Form 75 will be.
Visitors will be required to show proof of who they are and if they are operating a vehicle they must provide VCC staff members with registration, proof of insurance and a current driver's license. This information will be matched up against the visitor pass request submitted by the sponsor.
Base members will still be required to come to the VCC to sponsor their visitor on base. Upon arrival at the VCC the sponsor will show their military I.D. card and escort their visitor on the base. The sponsor will not have to sign in or wait for their visitor as long as the visitor has all appropriate information and documents.
There have been many changes to expedite customer service at the VCC and more changes are coming. For more information about the online visitor registration process, contact the VCC at 963-5729.
