Warrior of the Week: Airman 1st Class Timothy D. Womble

By 437th Maintenance Squadron

Airman 1st Class Timothy D. Womble is an aerospace ground equipment apprentice with the 437th Maintenance Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB since October.

As an AGE apprentice, he works in the servicing section of the shop where he keeps the flightline supplied with ground equipment by fueling and delivering the various types of equipment. He also performs general maintenance.

He helps contribute to Team Charleston's mission by providing flightline workers with the ground support equipment needed to keep the C-17s at a high level of mission readiness.

Airman Womble enlisted in the Air Force nearly a year ago to work toward a bachelor's degree, to help support his family and to serve his country.

"The best part of my job is it allows for training in many different types of equipment from power generators, to light carts and self-generating nitrogen carts," said Airman Womble.

At this point in his career, he would like to gain the status of AGE journeyman so that he would be better prepared to deploy.

"Airman Womble is one of the greatest Airmen who works here," said Tech. Sgt. Brian M. Shelton, 437 MXS AGE section supervisor. "His maturity and thirst for knowledge is amazing and he always gets the job done well."
