Warrior of the Week: Airman 1st Class Cristy Cross

437th Security Forces Squadron

Airman 1st Class Cristy Cross is a base entry controller with the 437th Security Forces Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB for the past four months.

As an entry controller, she takes responsibility for who enters and exits the base, ensuring the base's safety. Someday she hopes to be a part of the elite Security Forces Ravens, who guard airplanes and travel all over the world.

She contributes to Team Charleston's mission by ensuring the safety of everyone on the base, making sure no unauthorized individuals enter the installation. Furthermore, in any instance that a situation occurs she's able and ready to respond.

"My job has a lot of pride and importance and it makes me feel like I make a difference," said Airman Cross. "I like knowing that I'm saving lives every day I come to work."
This "Warrior of the Week" hails from Mebane, N.C., and enlisted in the Air Force a year ago. She joined to get an education and to travel to many different places where a lot of people might never be able to go and experience.

"Airman Cross is one of those few Airmen who make a supervisor's job easy," said Tech. Sgt. Brian Wilson, 437 SFS Alpha Flight chief. "She is a true professional who holds the highest standards. I think she's a remarkable Airman who has a promising future in our Air Force."
