CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Senior Airman Ricardo Mejia is a health care management journeyman with the 437th Medical Support Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB for three years.
As a health care management journeyman, he tracks medical records for active-duty Airmen who are referred to outside health care providers.
This "Warrior of the Week" hails from Columbia, South America, and moved to Englewood, N.J., with his family. He enlisted in the Air Force more than three years ago to follow in his brother's footsteps; his brother, Javier, is currently stationed at Osan AB, Korea.
"I like my job because I like being able to help Airmen and their families by providing them with the best medical support possible," said Airman Mejia.
His goal is to qualify for officer training school and he would also like to pursue a degree in health care management. He is currently a sophomore at Park University.
"Airman Mejia is an absolute pleasure to work with," said Tech. Sgt. Martin Saienni, 437 MDSS NCO in charge of TRICARE flight. "He is an Airman who I can always count on to get the job done right the first time. His enthusiastic attitude and willingness to go above and beyond are evident as he always helps our patients take care of referrals."
