Warrior of the week: Airman 1st Class Adam Konstanzer

437th Security Forces Squadron

Airman 1st Class Adam Konstanzer is a security forces specialist with the 437th Security Forces Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB for about seven months.

As a security forces specialist, he is responsible for providing entry control point security and conducting law enforcement operations. He is also a graduate of the Phoenix Raven program. Security Forces members who are Phoenix Ravens belong to a specialized group that protects military assets in remote locations of the world.

This "warrior of the week" hails from Littleton, Colo. and enlisted in the Air Force more than two years ago. He spent one year at Osan AFB, South Korea, where he also met his wife, Ja Young.

Airman Konstanzer decided to seek a career in law enforcement after living with the loss of a childhood friend as a result of the Columbine High School massacre in Colorado eight years ago. An interview with an Air Force recruiter helped his dream become a reality.

"I joined the Air Force for a career in law enforcement and have traveled the world," said Airman Konstanzer. "I have been to Korea, Sicily and have had the chance to see the pyramids. I can hardly wait for my next adventure."

He has already completed two years of college and said he can't wait until he receives his degree in law enforcement. After he earns his degree, he hopes to apply for Officer Candidate School.

"When you see Airman Konstanzer, you see professionalism at its highest," said Master Sgt. Brian Hilliker, 437 SFS assistant flight chief. "Airmen like Airman Konstanzer give the Air Force a positive image with the public."
