Charleston 101 critical days of summer golf tournament: The 437th Airlift Wing Safety Office is hosting a four-person captain's choice golf tournament August 28 at 8 a.m. at the Wrenwoods golf course. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the cost is $28 per person. Prizes will be awarded for closest to pin, longest drive and longest putt. For more information, contact Master Sgt. 2007 Senior NCO induction ceremony: The 2007 Senior NCO induction ceremony committee is seeking volunteers who are saber team members, color guard team, musicians (to play dinner music or accompany anthem) and role players for a military historical presentation. The committee would like to conduct a ceremony in honor of the new senior NCOs by senior NCOs. For more information, contact Master Sgt. Marlon Ball for music at 963-4450, Master Sgt. Senior NCO induction ceremony needs historical uniforms: The Senior NCO induction ceremony committee needs historical uniforms representing the following military operations: World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Korea, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. If you have uniform items they can use, or know someone who does, contact Master Sgt. Michelle McMeekin at 963-2871.

Air Force Ball golf tournament: The Air Force Ball committee is hosting a golf tournament fundraiser on Aug 17 at 8 a.m. at the Wrenwoods golf course. For more information, contact Senior Master Sgt. Christopher Riley at 843-452-0141.

Dining facility open to retirees: The 437th Services Squadron will be hosting retirees in the Gaylor Dining Facility Sept. 18. This will allow retirees to share 60th Anniversary celebrations, and encourage them to share with fellow Airmen their tremendous "Heritage to Horizon" experiences.

Smooth move briefings available online: Air Force legal offices are no longer required to provide "Smooth Move" briefings for potential claimants. A new online briefing can be viewed by claimants from any computer. This briefing can be accessed from the Air Force Claims Service Center public webpage at: http://legalassistance.law.af.mil/claims/. General education courses available at education center: Park University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University offer general education courses that are needed to satisfy Community College of the Air Force degree requirements. Scholarship for outstanding Airmen to ROTC: The SOAR program provides squadron commanders the opportunity to recommend individuals to prepare a Reserve Officer Training Corps application package. The wing commander approves the package, and headquarters Air Mobility Command will make nine selections Sept. 14. The SOAR/ROTC offers active-duty enlisted members the opportunity to earn a commission while completing a bachelor's degree as an Air Force cadet. The deadline for getting a completed package to the base education center is Aug. 31. Clinic has excess waiting room furniture: The clinic will have excess waiting room furniture during August and Sept. If you can use two-, three- and four-seat units, planters and tables in your work areas, contact Leon Smith for more information at 963-6759.

Sponsorship training: The Airman and Family Readiness Flight will host sponsorship training Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. This is mandatory training for first-time sponsors and sponsors who haven't had training in more than a year. Become job ready while earning college credits: Spouses of active-duty Air Force and activated Reserve Airmen can enroll in a free computer 101 course offered by Trident Technical College and the A&FRF. Classes will be taught by TTC staff for eight consecutive Saturdays beginning Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Only 15 spaces are available and all applicants must go through a simple screening process at a date determined after registration. Microsoft Office 2007: The latest version of Microsoft Office 2007 is now available to active-duty Air Force and civilian members for a fraction of the cost. Patriots Point Museum: Patriots Point museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission for active-duty military with an ID card is $13, but admission is free when in uniform. For more information, go to www.patriotspoint.org.

Airman's Attic in need of donations: The Airman's Attic is in need of household items, children's clothing to size eight, appliances and furniture. If you have items that have been gently used, consider donating them to the attic.
