CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
The Air Force Ball is being held Sept. 8 at the Charleston Area Convention Center.
To make this event affordable for Airmen E-4 and below, the base is giving away free tickets. Any Airmen who are interested should get with their squadron representative or first sergeant for more information. Also, to help out members of Team Charleston, the base's First Six Association is offering child care at a cost of $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional child up to a maximum of $30 per family.
"On the Wings of Change" is the theme of this year's AF Ball. The base is encouraging members of Team Charleston, both military and civilian, to witness this traditional celebration and commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Air Force.
The ball will start at 6 p.m. with a social hour then dinner at 7 p.m. and music and dancing to follow. Entertainment will be provided by violinist Daniel Davis and the band Plane Jane.
The uniform is mess dress for officers, mess dress or semi-formal for enlisted members and black tie or business suit for civilians. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased from a squadron representative or by calling Master Sgt. Jackie Pryor at 963-6679 by Aug. 31.
Base officials are looking to make this a night to remember. For more information about the AF Ball, contact Senior Master Sgt. Brenda Royal-Johnson at 963-4613.
