CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Several members of Charleston AFB received the following non-judicial punishments under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice during July.
The maximum punishment under Article 15 depends on the rank of the member being offered the Article 15 and the rank of the officer imposing punishment. If the commander finds a military member committed the charged offense, the commander can then determine the member's punishment based on the severity of the offense, the circumstances surrounding the offense, previous misconduct and any matters in mitigation or extenuation presented by the member.
A 437th Maintenance Squadron Airman 1st class received an Article 15 for signing false official statements and larceny of military property, valued at less than $500. The punishment consisted of forfeiture of $102 pay per month for two months ($102 pay suspended), 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437th Aerial Port Squadron Airman 1st class received an Article 15 for using a government cellular phone to make personal phone calls and three specifications of adultery. The punishment consisted of reduction to Airman, forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months ($150 pay suspended), six days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437 APS Airman 1st class received an Article 15 for making racially discriminatory statements and consuming alcohol while under the legal age of 21 years old. The punishment consisted of reduction to the grade of Airman basic (reduction below Airman suspended), forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months, 30 days restriction to base, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437 APS Airman 1st class received an Article 15 for making a false official statement and larceny of military property, valued at more than $500. The punishment consisted of reduction to the grade of Airman, 10 days extra duty and a reprimand.
