Warrior of the Week: Airman 1st Class Timothy Morgan

437th Maintenance Squadron

Airman 1st Class Timothy Morgan is an electro-environmental mechanic apprentice for the 437th Maintenance Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB for 15 months.

As an electro-environmental mechanic apprentice, he performs critical maintenance and safety checks on C-17 aircraft. He works on the electronic and environmental systems including air conditioning, heating, gas generation systems and antiskid brake systems.

"I love the broad range of electronic experience I have gained working the various job packages for the C-17 aircraft," said Airman Morgan. "I enjoy working as a team with Airmen from other career fields to complete the assigned work packages. The work we accomplish permits the C-17 to fly safely and meet their mission requirements. I am proud of our team and the critical work we accomplish together."

This "warrior of the week" hails from Hampton, Va., and enlisted in the Air Force two years ago. Airman Morgan was a member of the Bethel High School Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program and the military was one of his high priorities for the future.

"I joined the Air Force for the education opportunities because I was just shy of my associate degree at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Va., when I decided to complete my education in the Air Force," said Airman Morgan. "I am currently attending Park University and plan to complete my associate degree and apply for the officer candidate program. I wanted the enlisted experience before I applied."

Aside from his normal duties, Airman Morgan is also a member of the Charleston AFB honor guard and a physical training leader for his squadron. He also takes time to tutor students at Hunley Park Elementary School.

"Airman Morgan is a top-notch Airman," said Master Sgt. Dana McGhee, 315th Maintenance Squadron dayshift supervisor. "He is always the first to volunteer and takes on any job with an outstanding outcome every time."
