Choices available to finish student programs

By Education Center 437th Mission Support Squadron

The Air Command Staff College nonresident program may be completed through seminar or self-study. The completion requirements are identical for both methods.

Seminar -- A seminar is typically composed of five to eight members and can form anytime two or more students are enrolled.

The method is ideal if you prefer a regimented approach to your studies. It is also helpful for the retention of material, and undoubtedly offers the greatest benefits.

Self-Study -- Known as the "correspondence" approach, permits you to choose the time, pace, and place to study. As with the seminar approach, faculty is always available to discuss learning objectives and help with the understanding and interpretation of the readings.

Air War College's nonresident program is similar to ACSC but the eligibility requirements are different.

AWC is projecting the introduction of the new 17th Edition in the Spring/Summer of 2008. When the actual start date is established, the education center will also announce the close-out date for the 16th Edition, sometime in the Spring-Summer of 2009.

Enrollment in ACSC is based upon verification of your identity in the Air University Student Information System at https://ausis.maxwell.af.mil.

Applicants will remain enrolled through completion, provided they remain in good standing. For more information or to verification of standing, contact student services
(acscdl@maxwell.af.mil). For more information please call AUSIS at DSN 493-2014.
