Appointment of summary court officer: Capt. Isaiah Manigault, 437th Aeromedical Dental Squadron, is detailed as summary court officer to secure and make proper disposition of the personal effects of Senior Airman Rachelle Sloan, deceased. FREE Tae-Bo class: Tae Bo instructor, Billy Banks, will be holding a free Tae-Bo class Monday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; then from 12:30 to 1 p.m., Mr. Banks will give a motivational speech entitled "Deep Think." Both events will be held at the base picnic grounds weather permitting. The alternate location will be the Charleston Club. This is an authorized physical training day, and is open to all DOD identification card holders in any fitness level.
'Looking for a few good kids': The Airman and Family Readiness Center would like to invite Team Charleston children to participate in the upcoming family deployment line, code name Operation Icecap, Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. Children will be able to experience a deployment line, take a ride to a static C-17, receive a briefing covering their mission and a boxed lunch. 2008 Chiefs Recognition Ceremony: The 2008 Chiefs Recognition Ceremony will be held Feb. 2 at the Charleston Club. This event will be honoring Charleston AFB's newest chief master sergeants: Chief James Hobson, Chief Jim Hampton, Chief (Sel) Tonia Savidge, Chief (Sel) Chris Riley and Chief (Sel) Michael Lake. The cost for club members is $26.
Non-essential mission photography eliminated: Due to Program Budget Decision 720 and Air Mobility Command manning redistribution, the Charleston AFB Multimedia Center will no longer accept multimedia work order (AF Form 833) requests for retirements, changes of command (below wing level), individual promotion ceremonies commander's calls, etc. The MMC will continue to provide support for passport and visa applications, ISO Prep, gun cards, UAE Badges, portrait photography (award), special duty applications, alert photography and 437th and 315th mission documentation as manpower permits. Family pre-deployment briefing: There are pre-deployment briefings held every Friday from 2 to 3 p.m., at the Airman & Family Readiness Flight for individuals preparing for a deployment within the next 30 days. CSB REDUX retirement choice briefing: The Airman and Family Readiness Flight will be holding a REDUX briefing on Feb. 1 from 8 to 9 a.m. If you joined the military on Aug. 1, 1986 or later, you must make a choice between two retirement plans between your 14.5 and 15 year mark in the military. TSP TRANSFERS TO ROTH IRA's: Beginning January 2008, separated TSP participants and active participants eligible for age based in-service withdrawals will have the option to transfer all or part of their TSP withdrawal payments to a Roth IRA as well as to traditional IRAs or other eligible employer plans. Keep in mind that you must meet eligibility criteria and you must pay tax on any amount that you transfer into a Roth IRA for the year of the transfer. Free online credit score for active duty and their spouses: The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Investor Education Foundation is offering an online credit management tool free to active duty military and their spouses to help them manage their credit wisely. BrightScore provides the individual's credit score, access to live counselors, information they need to better understand their credit score, their credit report and provides a personalized action plan to help improve a user's creditworthiness. Pharmacy renovation: The pharmacy is undergoing a major renovation project that is estimated to take approximately four months. The pharmacy will continue with full services throughout the project. Volunteer delivery drivers needed: The Airman's Attic is in need of volunteers to pick up donated items. Volunteers are eligible to participate in an incentive program that provides free or reduced priced items at places like the golf course, bowling alley, club, car wash and more. Anyone who has an hour or two to spare on an as-needed basis, contact the A&FRF at 963-4406.
Airman's Attic in need of donations: The Airman's Attic is in need of household items, children's clothing to size eight, appliances and furniture. If you have items that have been gently used, consider donating them to the attic.
