CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Airman Jennifer Krewko is a pharmacy apprentice for the 437th Medical Group and has been stationed at Charleston AFB for six months.
As a pharmacy apprentice, she is in the early stages of her career and performs a variety of duties in the pharmacy with supervision. She types prescription labels, places each prescription in its respective bin and delivers medication to customers.
"I like the fast pace of the pharmacy. Before you know it, the day is complete," said Airman Krewko. "It is nice to know that I play a part in the outstanding health care provided to our Airmen and retirees. I learn something new and exciting every day from the outstanding professional staff here at the pharmacy."
This "warrior of the week" hails from Plainville, Mass., and enlisted in the Air Force in February 2007. She had been in the retail business for almost five years and did not see a future in that career.
"After conferring with my recruiter and a guarantee for a professional school, it was a 'no-brainer,' and I enlisted," said Airman Krewko.
She also joined for the opportunity to meet new people, explore new opportunities, travel and to take advantage of available educational programs.
She is currently working on her career development course. After she completes the basic education course requirements, she plans to further her education toward a career in radiology.
"Airman Krewko has been a great addition to our pharmacy team," said Tech. Sgt. Adam Garrett, 437th Medical Group pharmacy supervisor. "She has an outstanding work ethic and her eagerness to learn and develop makes her an outstanding apprentice. She embodies qualities that will take her very far in her military career. Though she is our most junior member, she is definitely a leader and brings a lot to our shop."
