One-hundred thirty-nine Charleston Airmen were selected for promotion to staff sergeant Aug. 20.
This year, 28,098 Airmen were eligible for promotion to staff sergeant, and 12,209 were selected -- an Air Force-wide selection percentage rate of 43.45 percent.
