CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Several members of Charleston AFB received the following non-judicial punishments under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice recently.
The maximum punishment under Article 15 depends on the rank of the member being offered the Article 15 and the rank of the officer imposing punishment. If the commander finds a military member committed the charged offense, the commander can then determine the member's punishment based on the severity of the offense, the circumstances surrounding the offense, previous misconduct and any matters in mitigation or extenuation presented by the member.
A 14th Airlift Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for damage to government property of $500 or less and assault consummated by battery. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman basic, 21 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 15th Airlift Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for underage drinking and failure to obey a lawful order. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman (suspended), forfeiture of $400 pay per month for two months, 20 days of base restriction and a reprimand.
A 437th Aerial Port Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman, forfeiture of $754 pay per month for two months (suspended), 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437 APS airman first class received an Article 15 for being drunk on duty. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman (suspended), forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months, 45 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437 APS senior airman received an Article 15 for adultery. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman first class (suspended), forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437 APS airman first class received an Article 15 for violating a no-contact order, wrongful use of marijuana and adultery. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman, forfeiture of $150 pay per month for two months, seven days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for forgery. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman (suspended), forfeiture of $375 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437th Logistics Readiness Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for underage drinking and inappropriate use of a government computer. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman (suspended), 15 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437 LRS airman first class received an Article 15 for inappropriate use of a government computer and provoking speech. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman (suspended), 15 days extra duty and a reprimand.
A 437th Operations Support Squadron airman first class received an Article 15 for dereliction of duty, underage drinking and making a false official statement. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman, 30 days correctional custody and a reprimand.
A 437 SFS airman received an Article 15 for underage drinking. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman basic and a reprimand.
Two 437 SFS airmen first class received Articles 15 for underage drinking. The punishments consisted of reduction to airman and a reprimand.
A 437 SFS senior airman received and Article 15 for providing alcohol to minors. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman first class, forfeiture of $250 pay per month for two months (suspended) and a reprimand.
A 437 SFS senior airman received an Article 15 for using a government travel card for non-official purposes. The punishment consisted of reduction to airman first class and a reprimand.
A 437 SFS staff sergeant received an Article 15 for providing alcohol to minors. The punishment consisted of reduction to senior airman, forfeiture of $350 pay per month for two months (suspended) and a reprimand.
