Warrior of the Week: Staff Sgt. Clifford Hartley

437th Security Forces Squadron

Staff Sgt. Clifford Hartley is a member of the 437th Security Forces Squadron and has been stationed at Charleston AFB for more than one year.

He is currently deployed to Southwest Asia as a member of the 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron as a military working dog handler. Sergeant Hartley's responsibilities include providing enhanced explosive detection capabilities with his military working dog, named Cir. While at home station, he is responsible for providing security for the base.

Regardless of whether he is at home station or deployed, what he likes best about his job is being able to provide everybody in the Air Force a sense of security, he said.

This "warrior of the week" hails from Fayetteville, N.C., and enlisted in the Air Force more than five years ago so he could be "a part of the best security force program in the world."

He said his future career goal is to go to the top and be promoted to chief master sergeant.

"Sergeant Hartley continually places himself in front of and above his peers, he can always be counted on to go the extra mile to get the mission accomplished," said Tech. Sgt. Gary Reash, 437 SFS kennel master. "His drive and commitment as a military working dog handler directly reflect in his actions daily while serving his country here at Charleston AFB and around the globe. A supervisor could only hope all their Airmen would have the same dedication."
