CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
A member of Charleston AFB was tried at a special court-martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice during January.
The maximum punishment at a Special Court-Martial consists of a bad-conduct discharge, 12 months confinement, forfeiture of two-thirds pay per month for 12 months and a reduction to E-1.
A 437th Force Support Squadron airman 1st class was found guilty by military judge alone of the following offenses: dereliction of duty, in violation of Article 92, UCMJ, in that the Airman spoke to other Charleston AFB Airmen about an on-going Office of Special Investigations case after being told to not discuss it; wrongfully and falsely making a military identification card to allow a dependent to have an identification card showing her to be above 21 years of age, in violation of Article 134, UCMJ; and impeding her own on-going investigation by requesting evidence be destroyed pertinent to her case, in violation of Article 134, UCMJ.
The Airman was sentenced to six months of confinement, forfeiture of $933 of pay per month for six months and a reduction to E-1.
