CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Tax season is ahead and active-duty Airmen, retirees and their family members can take advantage of free tax preparation and e-filing here on Charleston AFB.
To take advantage of this service, active-duty members and their family members should contact their unit tax representative listed below. If a unit is not listed, follow the same procedures as the retiree preparation service.
Retiree tax returns are done on a "drop-off" basis at the 437th Airlift Wing Legal Office. They are taken Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Those using the drop-off service will be notified once the return is completed and can then come in to review and sign the return.
Members must bring the following documents:
· Military identification or social security cards for self and all family members
· All tax documents (W2s, 1099s, dependent care expenses, Social Security Administration statements, etc.)
· Voided check for direct deposit
