Commander’s Action Line

By Col. John "Red" Millander 437th Airlift Wing commander

Issue: I have an issue about the Bass Tracker boats at the Outdoor Recreation Center. In order to rent out a boat, you have to have an orientation class before a person can rent. These classes are only given twice a month. I have been trying to call and get in and take this orientation course, but due to other priorities and some family issues, I have been unable to get in. I understand that these boats are very expensive, and I know that the center wants to take care of them as much as possible, but it seems to me that the center is being over protective with their boats. I would like to know if it would be possible to have this course available more often so that the folks that want to rent a boat can have more chances doing it.

Response: Thank you for using the Action Line ... it works! As a result of your call, the outdoor recreation staff has added four Bass Tracker boat classes to their spring-summer schedule. We hope you can attend one of the classes and look forward to your business.
