CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Proven ability was once again displayed after months of preparation earned Charleston maintainers an "outstanding" rating during Air Mobility Command's Logistics Standardization and Evaluation Program inspection conducted here May 11 to 18.
Col. John Meek, the AMC LSEP team chief, arrived at Charleston AFB May 11 accompanied by his AMC inspection team to begin inspections on the 437th and 315th Maintenance Groups, the base's recent Daedalian award winners.
Squadron leaders immediately began showing inspectors the best of what Charleston Airmen had to offer, from the rally cries at the base theater in-brief, to the sincere greetings of each inspector.
Inspections focused on checklist compliance, quality verification inspections and personnel evaluations. Approximately 1,000 inspections were completed during the inspection and were conducted on all shifts that maintenance personnel work.
Colonel Meek emphasized that a thorough, but fair, inspection was conducted and congratulated both groups on their inspections.
"I am absolutely amazed, thoroughly proud and totally floored. Having been part of an inspection team before, I have never seen a unit sweep an inspection," said Col. Tammy Livingood, 437 MXG commander. "Team Charleston, you guys absolutely rock!"
