CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
The 437th Medical Support Squadron welcomed a new commander during a change of command ceremony July 2 at the Charleston Club.
Lt. Col. Bonnie Goodale, who was the deputy commander and administrator at the 325th Medical Group at Tyndall AFB, Fla., replaced Lt. Col. James Barber as commander.
Colonel Barber will become the 42nd Medical Support Squadron commander at Maxwell AFB, Ala.
Colonel Goodale graduated from the University of Wisconsin, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and later earned her Master's Degree in Business. She was commissioned into the Air Force in 1993.
What are your initial plans as the new commander?
My plans are to see what my troops need and follow the direction of my commander.
What is the goal and mission of your agency?
Our mission is to provide quality health care services.
What are your expectations of your Airmen?
Communication, maintain standards, team player, professionalism and loyalty.
What was your most memorable assignment and why?
Guam - I loved the camaraderie overseas. The beaches, diving and travel
opportunities were nice too.
What is an interesting fact about you?
I love to scuba dive.

What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone answers, "it's not my job."
What is your favorite quote?
Teamwork: It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't care who gets
the credit.
Who is your role model and why?
Col. David Doty, who was one of my first squadron commanders. He does his job very
well, he is very knowledgeable, a people person and leads a very balanced life.
