CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
"Flyin" Brian Sommerfeldt used the Monday Night Football tie breaker to claim week four in one of the closest Swami Cup week's ever.
Brian's impressive 12-2 mark was matched by the amazing, all knowing pigskin prognosticator affectionately known as the one and only Swami, Ron "Pats Fan" Desautels, Amanda "Port Dawg" King and Beth "Rainbow" Trout. Curtis "Adrian" Peterson and Chris "Betty" White also posted 12-2 records, but each received a patent pending Swami Slap for not adding a Monday Night Football tie breaker score.
This week's "stink out loud" award goes to the hapless "St. Louis Clams" who are well on their way to an 0-16 record. "The Clams" are a veteran team unfortunately most of their veterans are from World War II. Close on their heels are the "Tampa Bay Shucks," "Buffalo Jills" and the
"Cleveland Clowns."
Rumors have been circulating that Michael Vick has signed an endorsement deal. I put my top secret, Navy-seal-trained investigative team on this story and they are confirming he has indeed signed a deal with Hush Puppies!
This week's "dunce cap, cellar dweller award" is shared by Alan "Beagle Boy" who was way off the scent and Charles "Tractor" Traylor who both cruised to the week's low mark of 9-5 which is not a bad record, but somebody has to fill that space in this Pulitzer Prize column!
How many Cowboys does it take to tackle Bronco's wide receiver Brandon Marshall? The answer is somewhere between six and 11 because he danced through five while scoring the winning touchdown.
Lastly, the Swami is glad to report all is well in Steelerville as the hometown heroes righted the ship by opening up a can on the high flying Chargers!
Now, without further delay, I will unleash my week six stone-cold, steel-pipe, lock cash in your Franklin Mint Susan B. Anthony dollar collection, guaranteed winning predictions. Please send your losing entries to 437mxs.swami@charleston.af.mil prior to the early game kickoff Oct. 18.
