Name: Airman 1st Class Leanne Crayton

Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pa.

Unit and job title: 437th Communications Squadron, knowledge operator

Time in the Air Force: two years, six months

Time in honor guard: five months

What inspired you to join the honor guard? When my daughter passed away, I wanted to be able to help other families when they'd lost a loved one. Honor guard is a great way to reach out and pay your respects. I hope by being at the funeral services it helps those families in a way and gives them a sense of closure.

What is your favorite aspect of the honor guard? My favorite aspect of the honor guard is the bond you form with each and every Airman you work with and how well we work with each other. We display that at every detail we perform.

What are your future career goals? My future goals are to earn my degree, for my husband and I to purchase our own home and to have more children.

Who is your role model and why? It's difficult to pick just one, but I would have to say my parents. They have made me who I am today, and I admire their hard work in raising and supporting my three brothers, my sister and myself.
