What inspired you to join the honor guard? I was inspired by the attention to detail displayed by the ceremonial guardsmen. Their uniforms were immaculate. When I saw the discipline displayed at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., I knew I wanted to emulate the same thing.

What is your favorite aspect of the honor guard? My favorite aspect would have to be the respect shown by family members when they see you in ceremonial dress. They're always appreciative of us rendering honors to their loved ones.

What are your future career goals? I'd like to retire and continue working with the youth in my local community.

Who is your role model and why? My role model has always been my mother. She endured so much without regrets or complaints. She was forever faithful and patient.

What is your most memorable moment in honor guard? My most memorable moment would have to be a wreath posting with my honor guard team in Tunisia, Africa. A four-star general replaced the previous team with our Air Force team - he was very impressed with our commitment to perform ceremoniously in 110 degree weather.
