What inspired you to join the Honor Guard? During technical school, I had the privilege of participating in a full-honors funeral. I was amazed by the level of respect and honor the base Honor Guard showed the family.
What is your favorite aspect of the Honor Guard? My favorite part of the honor guard is presenting the colors. I am able to see and meet many high-ranking officials and also carry our nation's flag.
What are your future career goals? I am going to apply for officer training school next year and hopefully receive a commission within the next two years.
Who is your role model and why? As long as I can remember, my dad has been the man I really looked up to and respected. He is my source of wisdom and voice of reason when I am in need.
What is your most memorable moment in the Honor Guard? Recently, I was given the honor of presenting our nation's flag to the son of a World War II and Korean War veteran. The son was middle-aged, and with tears streaming down his face, he still thanked me more sincerely than anyone I have ever met. It is an honor to bless people like that in the sad moments of life.
