Charleston airlift support kicks off JFEX
The tail of a Charleston C-17 fills the sky as U.S. Soldiers wait to board on the flightline at Pope Air Force Base, N.C., during a joint forcible entry exercise June 21, 2010. More than 98 service members performed an airborne insertion from the C-17 during the JFEX. JFEX, which is a week-long exercise conducted six times a year by Soldiers from Fort Bragg and Airmen from Pope AFB and Joint Base Charleston, is designed to enhance cohesion between the Army and Air Force through large-scale heavy equipment and troop movements.
