Post 9/11 GI Bill

Did you know that you are able to transfer this benefit to your dependents? Did you know that to be able to do this transfer you could incur an active-duty service commitment?

The following is a breakdown on how many more years you will be required to transfer benefits:

Retirement eligible before Aug. 1, 2009 = 0 years
Retirement eligible between Aug. 2, 2009 - July 31, 2010 = one year
Retirement eligible between Aug. 1, 2010 - July 31, 2011 = two years
Retirement eligible between Aug.1, 2011 - July 31, 2012 = three years
Retirement eligible after Aug. 1, 2012 = four years
