628 SFS welcomes new commander

Lt. Col. Frances Dorish assumed command of the 628th Security Forces Squadron from Lt. Col. Christopher Callis during a routine change of command ceremony at Joint Base Charleston - Air Base June 22. Colonel Dorish was previously the Chief, Integrated Defense Branch at Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.

Colonel Callis' new assignment is the Latin America Regional Affairs Strategist for the Joint Chiefs of Staff J5, Strategic Plans and Policy, Americas Division.

Colonel Dorish earned her commission after graduating from Virginia Tech in 1993. During her career, she has served in a variety of security forces assignments, both CONUS and OCONUS. She has deployed to Bosnia and multiple times to Iraq and has served in major command and headquarters positions at Air Combat Command and Headquarters Air Force.
