NOTICE
The 628th Medical Group, Flight Medicine Clinic hours will be changed effective Sept. 1, 2012. Their new hours of operation will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday. The clinic is closed for training every Wednesday at noon, however an on-call flight surgeon will continue to be available by phone.
Joint Base Charleston Veterinary Treatment Facility will be offering limited services during the month of September. Appointments are on a "first-come, first-served" basis. They will be staffed to perform routine boosters and healthy annuals. The VTF will remain open for over-the-counter sales during normal business hours. The VTF staff encourages our clients to consult with off-post veterinary clinics during this period for all of their pets' healthcare needs. We can provide our clients with information regarding their local veterinary clinics, as well as directing our service members to the nearest military installation for PCS requirements. We expect to return to scheduling appointments regularly by mid-October 2012. We apologize to all of our clients for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience during this time.
The Charleston First Sergeant Association will hold an Additional Duty First Sergeant Symposium in the Bldg. 610 auditorium on Sept.18 through 20. This symposium is for those who are interested in being an additional duty First Sergeant or just want some more tools for their leadership toolbox. Topics covered will give a brief overview of what First Sergeants do. Please contact your unit First Sergeant if you are interested in attending.
September 11
A Personal Branding Seminar will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Learn the importance of personal branding, its components and how to use etiquette to help display your personal brand excellence. This program focuses on the skill of polish reelect through your personal brand.
September 12
A My New Space class will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. This mandatory workshop is a prerequisite for individuals moving out of the dorm that addresses tips for financial success.
An Educational Opportunities Counseling half hour appointments will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Meet one-on-one for 30 minutes with an expert who will help individuals reach their educational goals.
A Spouse employment/scholarship orientation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Learn about free available resources and services such as employment, resumes, the local job market, scholarships and other job searching issues.
A Workforce (Job referral) Specialist meets one-on-one half hour appointments from 10 a.m. to noon with individuals. Meet with a workforce specialist who will provide job referrals, resume and interview assistance. This is available to active-duty, retirees and their dependents and Department of Defense civilians.
"Etiquette of the Interview" class will be held at 1 to 3 p.m. Learn the etiquette of the interview enabling you to be confident in your polish, which contributes to 85% of your professional success.
September 13
A Ready, Set, Parent class will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This course provides useful tips for parents while helping them understand the importance of budgeting for their new addition. FREE bundle for each expectant child!
Flu shots will be provided to all eligible beneficiaries (active-duty, dependents and GS civilians) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the base theater. Flu shot is required for all dependents enrolled in CDC or those who utilize Teddy's Watch at the clinic.
September 14
A Workshop for VA Disability Claims class will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A VA representative will cover the VA claims and filing process. Members must sign-up at the Joint Base Charleston - Air Base Clinic medical records section no later than the Monday prior to the workshop.
