News Briefs - Air Base

November 17
A Joint Base Charleston Exceptional Family Member Program Special Olympics Event will be held at the JB Charleston - Air Base Fitness Center from noon to 4 p.m. All EFMP families are invited to take part in the JB Charleston Special Olympics Event. In this event all EFMP members are given the opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy all while building skills and making connections with other children. Call 963-4411 to register for the event as a participant or volunteer.

November 21
A Spouse Introduction to JB Charleston - Air Base class will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. This is a fun and fast-paced introduction to JB Charleston - Air Base for military spouses who have recently moved here. Meet other newly-arrived spouses, connect with your sponsor's unit Key Spouse and learn where to shop, dine and play in the Lowcountry.

November 26
A Making Sense of the TSP, Civilian and Military, class will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Simplified language to help novice investors understand the purpose of the TSP, whether it's a good choice, strategies to use when investing in the TSP, and more.

November 28
A Smooth Move class will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Learn from experts on how to PCS smoothly.

November 29
A Resume II class will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. to noon; choose which class fits your schedule best. Receive professional feedback as you work on your draft resume and walk away with a completed product!

November 30
A Workshop for VA Disability Claims class will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A VA representative will cover the VA claims and filing process. Members must sign-up at the Joint Base Charleston - Air Base Clinic's family practice section no later than the Monday prior to the workshop.

A Deciphering the Career-Status Bonus class will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Individuals must select between two retirement systems, between their 14 ½ and 15-year mark. This workshop explains the financial impact of both retirement systems.
