It is with deep regret that we announce the untimely demise of Maj. David
Diehl, 16th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Capt. Van
Osterom, 16th Airlift Squadron, is detailed as Summary Court Officer to
secure and make proper disposition of the personal effects of Major Diehl.
Anyone having knowledge of claim for or against the deceased's estate may

A "Creating your High School Resume" workshop will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Participants will learn how to build resumes from classes, activities and skills.
A "Spouse Introduction to Joint Base Charleston - Air Base" class will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. This is a fun, fast-paced introduction to JB Charleston - Air Base for military spouses who have recently moved here. Meet other newly-arrived spouses, connect with your unit Key Spouse and learn where to shop, dine and play in the Lowcountry.
A "Learn How to Adopt/Foster" class will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants will learn to navigate the adoption and fostering system and the supporting services and resources provided by local agencies.

Mandatory TAP pre-separation briefings will be provided for separatees from 8 to11 a.m. and for retirees from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Per Public Law 107-103, in the case of anticipated retirement, retiring service members can receive pre-separation counseling up to 24 months prior to DOS. And a separating service member can receive pre-separation counseling up to 12 months prior to DOS. This is the first step in the process to making you "career ready" to leave the service; and this briefing/counseling is required prior to attending the TAP GPS Workshop.
"Military Spouse Appreciation Day" will be celebrated from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants for light refreshments, networking opportunities and a structured stress management skill-building class.
A "Ready, Set, Parent!" class will be held from 5:30 to 8: 00 p.m. This course provides useful tips for expectant parents, while helping them to understand the importance of budgeting for their new addition. Additionally, parents receive a free bundle for each expected baby.

A Workshop for Department of Veteran Affairs Disability Claims will be held from 8 a.m. to noon. The VA representative will cover VA claims and filing process. VA One-on-One Disability Claims Assistance will be provided from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Members (who do not have a copy of their medical records) must sign an authorization letter (authorizing the VA representative to obtain your medical records) at the Joint Base Charleston - Air Base Clinic's Family Practice section. This letter must be signed no later than Monday of the week's Friday VA One-on-One Assistance that you plan to attend.
A "Troops to Teachers" class will be held from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Receive counseling and assistance to help eligible veterans and spouses transition into a new teaching career.
628th Air Base Wing "Combat Dining Out" will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Air Base Picnic Grounds. This event is open to 628th ABW military, civilian employees, and family members (must be 18 years or older to attend). There will be an obstacle course to the grog, so put on your best warrior face and join the fun! Childcare is available through the First 6. See your unit rep for more details or contact Capt. A "Heart Link - Charleston Spouse Orientation to the United States Air Force" will be held on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is an excellent way for military spouses to learn about the Air Force mission, culture, traditions, military terminology and benefits/services, while making new friends!
