Fair showcases education opportunities

Joint Base Charleston held its annual education fair at the Education and Training Center on the Air Base, May 30, 2013, with more than 36 colleges and universities in attendance. The JB Charleston Education Fair was open to all military, family members, retirees and Department of Defense civilians.

"This education fair is a great way for local and national colleges and universities to reach the men and women of Joint Base Charleston," said Linda Sturgeon, Joint Base Charleston Chief of the Education Element, "Whether you are interested in an undergraduate or graduate degree, this is a great start to further your education."

Some of the colleges and universities represented were Southern New Hampshire University, Chamberlain College of Nursing, The College of Charleston, The Citadel and Upper Limit Aviation.

Joint Base Charleston commander Col. Richard McComb and 628th Air Base Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant Earl Hannon were also in attendance. Door prizes from each of the schools were given out to lucky fairgoers. Prizes varied from tote bags to golf equipment.
