NIWC Atlantic’s Miller selected Assistant Deputy CNO for Information Warfare

Chris Miller, Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic Executive Director, has been selected as Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare (N2/N6B). 
 
In this position, Miller will manage strategy, requirements, policy and resources for the Navy’s Communications, Networks, ISR, Oceanography, Space, Cyber, Electronic Warfare and Command and Control capabilities. N2/N6 is the primary resource sponsor for Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, including NIWC Atlantic located in Charleston, where Miller currently serves. Miller is expected to depart Charleston for the National Capital Region in July.
 
As a part of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, the NIWC Atlantic team works across five continents and seven time zones to develop and deliver cutting edge information technology systems and solutions to more than 1,450 customers around the globe. Total obligation authority for NIWC Atlantic is $2.93 billion. NIWC Atlantic customers include Navy and Marine Corps commands, joint commands and federal agencies.
 
NIWC Atlantic's approximately 4,500 federal civil service employees, 126 military personnel and 9,000 industry partners are located at the center's headquarters in Charleston, S.C., and in Hampton Roads, Virginia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Washington, D.C.; and Tampa, Florida. NIWC Atlantic overseas locations are in Europe, the Middle East and Antarctica. NIWC Atlantic's Charleston operations have a total economic impact of $2.6 billion on the state of South Carolina.
 
As a part of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, NIWC Atlantic provides systems engineering and acquisition to deliver information warfare capabilities to the naval, joint and national warfighter through the acquisition, development, integration, production, test, deployment, and sustainment of interoperable command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, cyber and information technology capabilities.
