JB Charleston relocates, keeps mission going in response to pending storm

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Staff Sgt. Drew Gayhart, 16th Airlift Squadron loadmaster, checks the engines of a C-17 Globemaster III as it prepares to depart Joint Base Charleston in preparation for Hurricane Irma Sept. 8, 2017. The aircrew flew to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida to pick up an En-Route Patient Staging System and a 15- person medical team. From Scott AFB, the team will fly the standard missions they would fly from JB Charleston as well as hurricane relief missions.
