Partnership enables JB Charleston sealift relief efforts to Puerto Rico

— The first humanitarian relief supplies sealifted from Joint Base Charleston to Ponce, Puerto Rico departed here Oct. 31. In the hours following Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, Joint Base Charleston C-17 Globemaster IIIs responded delivering more than 1,700 tons of aid, supplies and medical teams to affected areas. The C-17’s have the ability to get to austere locations quickly, the amount of cargo it can carry is limited.
