Inspector General

The Inspector General's Office serves commanders and our joint base mission partners both by executing the complaint resolution process and by proactively training all members of the organization about IG processes and fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) issues. A successful complaint resolution program is designed to enhance the organization's discipline, readiness, and warfighting capability. IG’s use fact-finding methodologies to seek out systemic issues affecting the organization.

Additionally, the IG office also handles all official queries from members of Congress.

The IG Complaint Program Overview:

  • The purpose of the Air Force IG Program is to assist in correcting systematic, programmatic, or procedural weaknesses and ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.

  • Resolve problems affecting the Air Force mission promptly and objectively.

  • Create an atmosphere of trust in which issues can be objectively and fully resolved without retaliation or the fear of reprisal.

  • Assist commanders in instilling confidence in Air Force Leadership.

  • The IG Complaint Program is described in AFI 90-301. The instruction describes procedures of how to make a complaint and who you should talk to.

  • NO ONE may deny you access to an IG or a Member of Congress, or take or threaten to take action against you because you filed a complaint.

  • Solving matters at the lowest possible level is the preferred and recommended method in solving a problem.
