Charleston Mayor meets joint base team

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, right, talks to Australian Royal air force Flt. Lt. Timothy Burnard, left, C-17 Globemaster III pilot, during a tour of a C-17 as part of a site visit here, July 25. The locations Tecklenburg toured included the Naval Health Clinic Charleston, the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and the 841st Transportation Battalion. Tecklenburg was selected to represent the installation at the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference in August 2017. The mission of JCOC is to increase public understanding of national defense by enabling American business and community leaders to directly observe and engage with the U.S. military.
