JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Col. Jeff Nelson, left, 628th Air Base Wing commander, talks to Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, right, during a joint base mission briefing as part of a site visit here, July 25. The locations Tecklenburg toured included the Naval Health Clinic Charleston, the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and the 841st Transportation Battalion. Tecklenburg was selected to represent the installation at the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference in August 2017. The mission of JCOC is to increase public understanding of national defense by enabling American business and community leaders to directly observe and engage with the U.S. military.
