JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. —
Women from the 437th and 315th Airlift Wings will be teaming up for a Women’s History Month incentive flight using an all-female aircrew on a C-17 Globemaster III, March 30, 2019.
The incentive flight is part of a special observance celebration and is scheduled to be part of a three-ship formation. Only one of the aircraft is slated to have an all-female aircrew. The flight is open for participation from the base to help familiarize non-flying service members on C-17 operations, tactics and capabilities.
The United States Congress dedicated the month of March as National Women’s History Month in 1987 after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and preserving women’s history.
