010718 | July 9, 2018

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. —

The 437th Airlift Wing will host a change of command ceremony July 12 at 9 a.m. at the Air Base.

Air Force Col. Clinton ZumBrunnen will assume command from Col. Jimmy Canlas officiated by Eighteenth Air Force Commander, Lt. Gen. Giovanni K. Tuck.

The 437th Airlift Wing commands the base's premier active-duty flying wing. The wing flies and maintains the largest fleets of C-17 Globemaster III aircraft in the U.S. Air Force, providing a significant portion of Air Mobility Command's Global Reach airlift capability. Apart from its heavy airdrop commitment and a demanding humanitarian role, the 437th Airlift Wing's missions range from supporting U.S. Embassies to supplying humanitarian airlift relief to victims of disasters, to special operations, to airdropping forces or vital supplies into the heart of contingency operations in hostile areas.
