JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. —

The Joint Base Charleston Commander terminated the limited evacuation order and issued a recall order for all remaining personnel at 10 a.m. Sept. 12, 2017.

The termination of the LEO recalls all remaining personnel affected by the barrier islands evacuation of Edisto Beach in Colleton County, Daufuskie, Fripp, Harbor, Hunting and Hilton Head Islands in Beaufort County, and Knowles and Tullifiny in Jasper County.

All other evacuees were ordered to return to their residence no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Sept. 12, 2017. Residents who were unable to return to their homes by the designated time must request an exception to the LEO through their chain of command.

"I ask that all affected members route their questions through their chain of command for specific guidance pertaining to your situation," said Nelson. "Our base personnel have been working hard to ensure facilities return to normal operations by Wednesday. Thank you for your continued patience and support."

Financial guidance regarding travel vouchers will be published by service specific Finance offices.

The stop-movement for service members currently undergoing a Permanent Change of Station or Temporary Duty to Joint Base Charleston has additionally been rescinded. All personnel affected by the referenced Stop Movement Order should resume travel to Joint Base Charleston consistent with their travel status prior to the issuance of the order.
