SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - U.S. Air Force Col. Michael Freeman, 628th Air Base Wing and Joint Base Charleston commander, notifies Mrs. Teresa Lynch-Chrapkiewicz, Rise Academy science teacher, that she is JB Charleston’s 2024 Hometown Hero in Summerville, South Carolina, Feb. 27, 2024. One of 200 nominations, Teresa Chrapkiewicz, is a dedicated teacher, a published author, an Air Force veteran and the first female Navajo pilot, who earned the opportunity to ride in the backseat of a Thunderbird F-16 Fighting Falcon for her outstanding work in and dedication to the Charleston community.
