Civil Engineer Airmen maintain mission readiness
JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Airman 1st Class Weston Foust, an engineering assistant from the 20th Civil Engineer Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., ensures a tripod is level while setting up global positioning receivers, June 5, 2019 at North Auxiliary Airfield, S.C. during an aircraft crash analysis exercise. Joint Base Charleston engineering assistants were joined by their counterparts from Shaw Air Force Base to help younger Airmen learn what it’s like to coordinate with other bases during a real world crisis scenario. Engineering assistants specialize in planning and managing construction projects for military installations and ensuring that facilities and structures are able to operate at full capacity.
