PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Force Master Diver Scott Brodeur, Naval Expeditionary Combat Command, watches as Chief Navy Diver Marshall Goble tries out the Office of Naval Research TechSolutions-sponsored Scuba Binary Dive Application during a demonstration and evaluation off the coast of Panama City, Fla. The SBDA 100 automates the submission of dive profiles directly from a dive computer worn by Navy divers to the Naval Safety Center’s Dive Jump Reporting System database, eliminating transcription errors and the re-entering of dive site information for multiple dives by the same diver. Brodeur submitted the idea to automate the reporting of dive logs to ONR’s TechSolutions, who partnered with the Space Warfare Systems Center Atlantic and the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division to develop the SBDA 100.
