JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Roger Van Ranst, flight mechanic for the B-25J “Miss Mitchell,” glances out a window of the plane April 26, 2018. The Mitchell bomber was the first Army airplane to sink an enemy submarine, fly from a carrier deck, pack a 75-mm cannon and to see action on every fighting front.
