JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Malcolm DeFliece, Charleston County Emergency Medical Services paramedic crew chief, left, and Laura Kelley, North Charleston Fire Department fire and life safety educator, center, listen to Joyce Myrick, Safe Kids Charleston Area technician, right, go over one of the car seat assessments at the Hunt Community Center parking lot on Joint Base Charleston, Nov. 20, 2017. Each assessment takes 30 to 45 minutes per car seat per vehicle. The car seats are inspected and the parents are educated on how to properly install the car seat and how to fasten their child in the car seat itself.
