JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - A REMOTEC Andros F6A robot opens the doors of a “suspicious” van during a routine training exercise at the Joint Base Charleston Naval Weapons Station Explosive Ordnance Disposal range, S.C., Nov. 2, 2017. The robot features a manipulator arm with seven degrees of freedom, ensuring optimum dexterity, and a gripper with continuous rotation allowing the operator to have control during the operation. This particular model is a radio controlled robot, weighing more than 450 pounds.
